Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing the base stats of the item or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Typically items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while objects with strong bases, such as Eth titans don't change significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or extra effect while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot gathered by enemies or received from chests or missions. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

In order to upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the player must select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats as well as the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix to the end of the item's name. For instance adding a Glyph would make a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools when a player swaps one glyph by another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, except for inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from previous versions. Gear is now divided into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level however the materials required don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of those items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

If an item is leveled out and is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, and a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The amount of affixes available is determined by the item's class. For instance, an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests to complete based on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not reach its max level The NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This procedure can take as long as two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However it has a lower success rate.

Engineers use a level in order to compare the height of the building with an established point, like an existing benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing an item upgrader mod's Upgrade Item components. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically enhance an item level upgrade's strength and damage as well as other attributes. It is possible to do this through the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be done in rare cases.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original Best item upgrader or a comparable item. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the level of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.

Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes which made them more accessible for players to roll. This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This can be a great or a bad thing, dependent on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item could have a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are offered over the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater the chance of receiving the bonus of your choice.

The game also includes various sets that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on the same unit. This is a good way to give the character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character faster, which allows you to progress in the game and reach higher levels.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized differently. They can have various dimensions, contain no elements at all, or contain just one element. They can be used for organizing data or sorting information. They are also useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides a wide range of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense and set bonuses. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into parity with their levels. For example, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the required items to upgrade it. This will display the item's attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also check the upgrade item requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Especially for weapons that have spell/weapon damage glyphs, upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will provide a significant improvement in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade as its defense value will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
