The fridge has 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is standard for a fridge with a French door at this price. It also has a decent sized ice maker in the left door, but it isn't the largest I've seen.

You can alter the shelves in both compartments for a custom storage solution. The GE PYE22PYNFS's design for the interior is good-looking, too. The LED lighting adds an appealing accent. The storage bins in the door have a third shelf which can be folded down to store tall items. The drawers have temperature controls, so you can set them for Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, but I found their textured plastic coatings to be a little hard on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with the full suite of features you'd expect from a fridge in this price range that includes Wi-Fi as well as app support via GE's SmartHQ software. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from any place across the globe. It also comes with a lot of customization options. It also sends you notifications when doors are left open, when the refrigerator or freezer needs to be defrosted and when it's time to change the filter.

It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill, an option available in a few other GE fridges that allows you to choose how many cups of water you'd like to dispense at once. It does have an indicator on the fridge's display to display how much water you have remaining, but that's not as helpful as Precise fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. The ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient and makes an ice pyramid with only a little water. This fridge is the perfect choice for single household or kitchenettes that want a sleek design and top of the line food preservation.

This refrigerator was the highest-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators Test for various reasons. The freezer temperature remained steady at just above 0°F and never fluctuated more than a fraction - this is crucial to prevent freezing burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well. It reached the initial temperature set within a matter of hours, and maintained that temperature throughout our testing.

Bosch is known for its high-end appliances. Therefore, it's not a surprise that the Bosch counter depth fridge can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch's Home Connect. Inside, the refrigerator has the standard French-door layout, with gallon-sized door bins at each door as well as two rows of spill-capture shelves and a set of sleeker drawers. The top shelf on the right side can be folded in order to create more space for taller items. There's also a full-width drawer to store deli items and an internal water dispenser.

The refrigerator comes with an ice maker, making it easy to transfer the frozen ice whenever you need it. The freezer also comes with thoughtful design features, such as sliding drawers that help you organize your items. It also has a large bin that can accommodate plenty of frozen food and a separate ice storage bin.

Smart InstaView panel is a cool feature of the refrigerator. You can manage the temperature, lighting, and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It's a nice way to control and monitor your refrigerator, especially when you're away from home.

However, while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it does not necessarily add to the overall performance of the refrigerator. The fridge took a bit longer to chill food and defrost it than the other fridges we tried. This is likely due to its bigger capacity.

The other issue we have with the door of this refrigerator. They have sunken handles on the front, which allow smaller people to open them from the bottom, however they're not easy for taller people to guide shut without slamming them. It would have been better if they had a front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a good option for those looking to combine the benefits of a French-door fridge's aesthetics with a more efficient layout. It has a capacity that is above average for counter-depth models and is able to cool evenly. It's also a bit less than the top counter-depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which helps make it a desirable choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for an French door refrigerator that won't cost a fortune and isn't expensive, this Frigidaire is a solid option. It's a minimalist design that's not as striking visually as other models but it does have enough features to make it a good option. Its main feature is the temperature adjustable drawer which helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also has a large water dispenser and a decent Ice machine that is fast.

The "Chill Drawer", which is situated above the two crisper bins, is another excellent feature. This drawer lets you divert part of the fridge's cooling power directly to this area, which means you can keep food items that need extra attention. This feature can be adjusted using a slider on the outside of the drawer. It is also possible to use this to set a general cooling level for the entire fridge, though I've found that adjusting the general settings tends to produce better results than specific ones.

During my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator stayed fairly consistent across different areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the refrigerator did not differ significantly from 38 degrees. This is a great performance, but it does not quite make it to the top of our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to a smart thermometer for more precise measurements of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is constructed of grey-bodied stainless steel that has a "smudge-proof" finish. It does a great job of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing even when compared to the shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
